1910's Standard Oil Cast Iron Oil Can Rack or Sign Bracket RARE Very Good 19

  

Up for sale is this very old Standard Oil Company cast iron bracket. Unusual piece that I have not seen before.

Not sure if it was for an oil rack or to possibly hold a sign as it has two pockets at each end. There is a large series of holes and is marked with arrows at each end and "8 inches" dead center. Piece is 19" long and 2 1/2" at it's widest point.
